Pre-school gymnastics philosophy

Keeping first things first when raising kids! Child development experts know, for pre-schoolers, acquiring a healthy learning attitude is far more importants than mastery of specific skills. The sportscotland pre-school gymnastic program is focused on the total well-being of each child. This philosophy enables us to assist in the development of a strong learning foundation for a lifetime of health and fitness.

The sportscotland curriculum is carefully designed for exactly what children need most during these formative years. Gymnastic skills are used as tools to teach learning attitudes while skill mastery is a secondary goal.

Fun is far more important than meets the eye

One of the objectives of sportscotland is FUN! Of course, this is cool with the kids but parents sometimes fail to realise the importance of fun in a learning setting, especially for pre-schoolers. Adults often feel that when fun is present, learning is not - nothing could be farther from the truth. Why is fun so important? All well-adjusted, life-long learners at some point during their formative years formed a subconscious association when presented with a learning situation approximating:

challenge=risk=learning=fun & excitement. In other words, "a challenge is worthy of by best effort in and of itself".

Recreational gymnastics for school age girls and boys

We look forward to being a part of your child's physical and mental development. We are dedicated to improving children's health and fitness in a fun, positive atmosphere. We believe that gymnastics and other physical activity helps develop the whole person, including physical strength, speed, grace and balance, as well as discipline and self confidence. Study after study confirms that kids involved in sports, including gymnastics are more likely to score higher on achievement tests, stay in school, have greater self-esteem and live a healthier lifestyle. But most importantly, we believe that when a child sees health and fitness as fun, it sets them on a path that lasts a lifetime.

Recreational gymnastics curriculum: The school are recreational curriculum is designed to provide a non-competitive, achievement-oriented program of progressive skills, conditioning and flexibility.

Our teachers are specially selected and trained to safely bring out the best in each child by encouraging each child to exceed their perceived limitations.

Cost of a class is £3.45 per hour payable in advance via block booking system.
